The first heat of the Miss Down and Miss Armagh beauty pageant was an overwhelming success and a night enjoyed by all those lucky to be in Cobbles. The competition was the brainchild of three local business women. Michaela McAteer -Lipplicious Make-up Artistry, Julie Lynch-Absolute Entertainment Ireland and Shaneen McAteer- Marketing Executive for both newly established businesses. These three ladies took on this exciting new project two weeks ago and their success to date has been phenomenal. Due to the success of this event, there are a number of heats to give every girl in the two counties a chance of entering.

Banbridge native Shaneen, the marketing executive for the pageant, spoke to Newry Times about the event. “We are so very excited and particularly looking forward to the finale on 30th March at the Carrickdale Hotel (Lacey’s).
