Kelly left Newry and moved to Australia

Name: Kelly White.

Age: 25.

Education/experience : Qualified Dental Nurse with an NVQ level 3 in Oral Healthcare and also a certificate III in business.

What part of Newry & Mourne are you originally from? Temple Hill Road in Newry.

When did you leave Newry? May 2010.

Why did you leave Newry? I always wanted to do some serious travelling, so we booked an around the world trip.

Who did you go with? My fiance Aidan Curtis.

What are you doing now in Australia? Are you working? We have settled in Sydney and I am currently working as a dental nurse on Macquarie street in the city.

Are you enjoying life away from Newry? Yes, it’s great, I am living the dream.

What do you miss most about Newry? Well, that’s an easy one. My family and friends and the occasional chicken burger out of Friar Tucks.

When will you return to Newry or if you don’t know, then would you like to eventually return here? We will be returning home in May for my nanny and grandas 50th wedding anniversary then back to Sydney again.

Career ambition: To become a dental hygienist.

What would you say to anybody still living in Newry who can’t find work? Take a chance and book the ticket, it’s the best thing you will ever do.
