Boat engine theft on Newtown Road

The incident happened along the Newtown Road area.

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the theft of a boat engine in the Newtown Road area. Some time between 8pm on Friday 20th January and 11am on Tuesday 24th January a Suzuki 115bhp outboard boat engine was taken from the back of a boat. Fuel and electrical lines were cut to facilitate the theft and the owner’s fence was dismantled to get the engine out.

The boat would have been visible from the A1 and a large vehicle would have been required to move the engine. Police are appealing to anyone who noticed any activity around the area or has information in relation to this incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
