20 year old assaulted in Clanrye Avenue

Police in Newry are appealing for information following an assault in the Clanrye Avenue area. Around 1am on Saturday 14th January, a 20 year old male was walking along an alley behind the swimming pool on Clanrye Avenue when he was approached by another male. The victim was punched in the face and sustained injuries to his nose and teeth before he managed to run off towards Armagh Road. The assailant was part of a group of four or five males and is described as being approximately 5ft 10in tall and was wearing a white hoodie top with ‘Nike’ written across the front in black writing. Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has information in relation to this to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
