Terry Davey, a well known Newry¬†businessman, has died on a trip to Pattaya, Thailand. It is understood that Mr Davey drowned while on a beach resort on January 8th. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have said that they will provide providing consular assistance to father of three’s family.

Local councillor Jackie Patterson spoke of his shock, “Terry was a friend of mine from school days. He was a very popular businessman in Newry. He was well-known to the whole community and very popular.”

He continued “He was a great footballer and his father played too. The whole community, like myself, is devastated and shocked at the news, particularly when something like this happens so far away.”
