Councillor urges vigilance after home burglaries

Fews area Sinn Féin Councillor Pat McGinn has urged the local community to be extra vigilant after news that several burglaries in the Derramore, Bessbrook and Camlough areas had been reported and now were being investigated by Bessbrook Police.

“Properties were entered through rear doors or windows and cash and jewellery taken” said the local elected representative who appealed to members of the public and the local community to contact the police immediately on 0845 600 8000 if they spotted anything suspicious.”

The councillor continued, “Those engaged in these selfish acts inflict trauma and distress on the victims and their families. We as a community must do all practically possible to ensure that they can be apprehended and face the full rigours of the law”.
