Camlough Mountain Christmas morning climbers celebrate “The Precious Present”

Over forty people participated in the Christmas morning Camlough Mountain climb this year to celebrate what the organisers of the annual climb had termed “The Precious Present”. Newry and Armagh MP Conor Murphy who was one of those who enjoyed the walk and climb said that the event had been attended by a wide range of people.

Speaking about the event, Mr Murphy said, “Whilst many locals participated, I met some who are back in Ireland for the Christmas period and also people whose family members are in different parts of the world such as Australia and the USA”.

Walkers reported that whilst it was very windy at the top of the mountain, it didnt stop them having their hot “toddies” and mince pies, supplied by Des Murphy and Nicolas Smith.
