Garda and PSNI officers are on the hunt for a suspected drunk-driver who stole a police patrol car from officers after they pulled him over in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin on Sunday night. Having been already placed in the back of the car, the man made his way in to the driver’s seat. After taking the vehicle, the man then speed off north, smashing through a toll barrier near Drogheda and making his way in to Northern Ireland. The PSNI later found the car abandoned just outside of Newry and are assisting the Garda in their search. Garda are said to have gathered plenty of forensic information on the man from both the police car and the man’s own car in Balbriggan.
