Newry girl wins top CIM Award
Armagh-based company Linwoods Foods has notched up yet another success at the influential CIM Ireland Marketing Excellence Awards 2011. The Chartered Institute of Marketing, now in it’s centenary year, is the world’s largest and most respected professional marketing body.
Newry woman, Maeve McKeefry who is Linwood’s Brand Manager, accepted the prestigious award for Best International Market Development Campaign on behalf of Linwoods at the glittering black-tie event which took place recently at the Belfast’s City Hall. Maeve, who was clearly delighted with Linwoods win, spoke to Newry Times. “This award is the one that we really had our eye on, given that international export has more recently become a key focus for Linwoods business strategy. Our company is a huge believer in the positive power of marketing for long-term business success and winning the Best International Market Development Campaign award highlights and rewards all the hard work and effort that has been going on at Linwoods.”
Maeve added, “The CIM awards are a highly respected measure of marketing and sales excellence and are extremely sought-after. This makes Linwoods extremely proud to have been selected, given the exacting category criteria and the strong competition. In recent years, Linwoods has been brave enough to diversify in terms of its product offering and route to market and as a result the Linwoods Superfoods range has built a strong reputation in the global health food market as well as in the UK and Ireland. USA, Spain, Italy, Finland and Portugal, have all been a big wins for us and we are now also developing a strong foothold for our healthy-eating Superfoods range of milled seeds, nuts and berries in France and Norway. We believe that with a strong sales and marketing leadership, success will continue and this award will certainly inspire our teams to reach once again for excellence.”
The CIM event, which attracted more than 400 guests, celebrated the remarkable achievements of the marketing profession right across the island of Ireland and Charles Fulton, Chair of CIM Ireland commented, “The success of these awards in Ireland is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our home-grown professional marketers. This has been a tremendous celebration for the Institute’s centenary year. We had a very strong field of finalists from a diverse range of sectors and I know the judging panel had a difficult job. Winning companies, individuals and those who have been highly commended can be extremely proud of themselves.”
