Drugs seized in Kilkeel by vigilant Police patrol

Police in Kilkeel have recovered a quantity of drugs after observing a male acting suspiciously. Around 1.40am on Sunday, 20th November, officers on patrol stopped a 20 year old male who was subsequently arrested for possession of class A drugs. A search of a house in the Abbey Park area was conducted and a small amount of cocaine and methadrone, with an estimated street value of £780 and a sum of cash were seized.

The 20 year old male was charged with possession of class A and B drugs, possession of class A and B drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property. He will appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on 14th December 2011. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
